Sterling Management Consulting Releases Capital Markets * Trading - Business Intelligence Solution Specific To Trading

PRINCETON, N.J., March 18 /PRNewswire/

-- Sterling Management Consulting, a leading solutions provider in the successful implementation of Decision Support Systems, Data Warehousing, Executive Information Systems and reporting applications, today announced an initiative to demonstrate an increased commitment to the Business Intelligence arena. As a first step SMC plans to release several industry specific Business Intelligence solutions. Initial releases will focus specifically on the trading, insurance and healthcare industries.

"Our product offerings will enable a specific market to purchase a solution already tailored to their particular industry which will work with their existing Enterprise Business Software," said Sol Klinger, Technology Consultant for Sterling Management Consulting.

Analysts predict that the Business Intelligence market is expected to grow as much as $70 billion by the year 2000. Business Intelligence -- the gathering, management, analysis and distribution of data -- enables companies to glean knowledge from information databases and external data sources. This data is then used to make strategic decisions about which markets to enter, which customers to court and which products to promote in an effort to increase profitability.

"Providing industry specific packages is our trump card to strengthen and maintain our position in this space," said Klinger. "Many of the current BI offerings are general and do not concentrate on a specific market segment, therefore organizations find themselves having to customize existing solutions which becomes costly."

Business Intelligence is not the lone segment that SMC is putting its concentrated efforts on to better support their client who offer Enterprise Business Solutions, such as IBM. Client Relationship Management (CRM) is an integral part of the BI solution. AMR Research recently stated that the CRM market will top 11.5 billion by 2002. CRM revenue is still minuscule when compared to other enterprise application markets such as ERP, indicating that there is plenty of market to be tapped.

"Our methodologies combine the elements that make BI and CRM applications successful today," said Klinger.
