Sterling Management Consulting to Become Sterling Management Solutions with a Focus on New Vertical Solutions

11/05/2002

PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Sterling Management Consulting Inc. announced today that it has formally changed its name to Sterling Management Solutions Inc. The change is seen as substantive rather than cosmetic, and more completely aligns the name with the evolving practice.

"With the growth of our PlatformBI product and the expansion of the existing Business Intelligence vertical solutions, the world seems to be driving toward an expansion of our present products. There is a critical need for new vertical solutions such as Business Performance Management, Compliance, Anti- Money Laundering and Information Security and Analysis. Also we have added intelligence integration for Industry and Business Continuity Planning," said John Gieselman, Chief Executive at Sterling Management Solutions. "A stronger emphasis is being placed on using Intelligence and Analysis to drive the business rather than the past approach of simply mining the data for anomalies and making reports," continued Gieselman.

"In these difficult times, knowledge is power," added Sol Klinger, the Technical Director at SMS, "if you know how to ask the questions to gain that knowledge. And, that knowledge inevitably must drive the new business structures and reform the old ones. There are consequences for not asking the right questions and millions of dollars are wasted every year by such suppositions as: `once all the systems are hooked up the analysis can begin.'

Sterling's approach and pre-built technologies and data models allow executives to formulate and answer key questions about their business in hours rather than weeks or months.

John Chapel, a member of the Board at SMS and the CEO of Wall Street Connect added, "SMS can create real value and dynamic growth for its customers by giving the quantitative backup to the senior executives who in the past have waited several days to several weeks for such things as client costs and new pricing structures. Now SMS clients can have unique, dynamic models and what- if proactive or defensive scenarios at the click of a mouse. In the past our flagship product, TradeBI™ was an interactive, business intelligence and pattern matching and recognition solution that integrates data, news and analytics with voice, e-mail, wireless and web based alerts into a single voice/video platform that is available to each level of management. Several hundred pre-built analytics included such items as Order Flow Analysis, Customer Segmentation, Execution-Destination Points, Customer Level Profit and Loss, and Hard-Soft Dollar tracking. This product and this Company are now so much more and our name should reflect that."
